Careful what you wish for!

Murky or what 😞

Once again, thanks for all of the contributions folks - they are coming in thick and fast which is great 😃.

I know I commented on the hot weather a few times but I really wasn't intending to moan about it, honestly! For whatever reason, the hot weather now seems a distant memory - I did wonder what was in store when all of the farmers we saw yesterday seemed to be frantically gathering in their hay.

Today we have had mist, dense fog and quite a bit of rain - in fact It has rained to a greater or lesser degree pretty much all day apart from what appeared to be some kind of rain shadow coming down from the Col Marie Blanque. When we finished my fingers had gone all wrinkly on the end like they do when I spend to long in the bath 😃

Having said all that, it has been an enjoyable day on the bike and our plan to do a bit less distance while tackling the bigger passes has certainly worked for me. (Yesterday we only just finished in time to eat and go to bed - jobs such as doing the blog and booking accommodation all had to be done while eating). A few less miles and an earlier finish occasionally seems more sustainable, especially since we are most likely going to be riding every day for most of June.

Today we have covered 118km and climbed 2652m. We are spending our night at Eaux Bonnes (effectively we are already onto the approach of the Col D'Aubisque).

We are now up to pass number 27 in the list. Our high point for today was the top of the Col De Soudet at 1517m.

At breakfast (we rode down the mountain from our chalet and had breakfast in Larrau) we chatted to a Canadian chap who had come across some other riders recently who were also on the 100 cols tour - it would be interesting to meet others and compare notes.
