Pedaling on...

Not quite so easy big one - our high point so far

Snow 😃

Our road headed down along the ridge and then popped over to the other side

Interesting hilltop church or somesuch (on top of the mound - not the foreground one)

Little easy one

First off - thanks so much for all the encouragement and the contributions to our Justgiving page everyone 😃

A quorum of satellites confirm 169km of progress today with 2615m of ascent. The weather is now doing what we would expect for this time of year (i.e. nice and sunny but not too hot) and we are getting into some bigger mountains and higher passes.  We broke out the sun cream for the first time today and I even used my sunglasses 😃

We have now ticked off 20 passes from the list and have climbed 10865 'official' metres. Our actual climb is quite a bit more than that - we reckon that might be because the routesheets don't count all the little up's and down's in between the major climbs?

Perhaps the most amusing incident today was when we were screaming down off the col du pass de peyrol. I noticed a chap pushing a mountain bike up the road towards us. As we approached he held up his hand to stop us. "Mechanical issue", I thought, as I glanced down to look at both tyres. But no - he wanted toilet paper and, by the looks of him, he wanted it now! Steve gave him some wipes and was keen to put the remaining ones back in his pocket before re-starting. For my part, I just wanted to head off down the mountain before the flood gates opened 😂 Why the poor chap hadn't just taken advantage of some natural fauna we will never know.

Tonight our R&R will be at Jussac.
